A Breezy Opening Ceremony
The Konsal Formula Windsurfing European Championships was opened today by a parade of competitors, officials and VIP's from the Old Town Square in Puck to the Green Beach stage for a flag ceremony.
The opening day at the 2018 championships began with the registration of competitors and their equipment, followed by a practice led by Race Director Barbara Grabarz and her race team.
40 competitors from 13 countries have signed up for this unique championship - the very first formula windsurfing foiling european championship. Puck is hosting 2 championships in one event by combining the new format of 'foiling' with the established racing 'on the fin'. The event schedule will permit competitors to compete in both formats.
The flag ceremony was concluded by the raising of the polish national flag by Olympic medallist Przemyslaw 'Pont' Miarczynski and the official opening declared by the Mayor of Puck,
